cancers
can be very aggressive and their removal can result in a disfiguring
defect, especially in delicately structured areas such as the
lip, nose, eyelid and ear. It is in these cases that a highly
skilled plastic surgeon can be the difference between a 'normal'
appearance and a severe deformity.
Dr. Fata
primarily uses the technique of the transfer of adjacent skin
on the face, known as local flaps. He has found that this approach
generally gives the best results because adjacent skin is the
best match for color and texture. Scars can often be hidden
in the natural shadows and lines of the face. The following
patient examples demonstrate the results that have been achieved
by Dr. Fata with these techniques on various parts of
the face, although individual results may vary.
